Access to the Conference

IEEE CSE-2018 Conference will be held in Bucharest, Romania’a largest city and capital. Known for its wide, tree-lined boulevards, glorious Belle Epoque buildings and a reputation for the high life (which in the 1900s earned its nickname of “Little Paris”), Bucharest is today a bustling metropolis.

CSE 2018 will be held at the Central Library of the University Politehnica of Bucharest, 2nd Floor, within the University Politehnica of Bucharest, 313 Spl. Independentei, Bucharest, Romania. Additional information and conferences schedule will be available on registration desk.

You can consult the map here to find out the location.

Please be aware that citizens from certain countries may require a visa to enter Romania. If unsure, check with a romanian embassy or consulate. Additional information can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs In case you need an invitation letter, please contact us.

Travel Information

The weather in Bucharest is warm in October. Temperatures between 15oC to 25oC are to be expected.

Even if Romania is in European Union, the local currency is RON (Romanian national currency, called “leu”). As in any other countries, don’t exchange EUR/RON in the airport, the fares are not really fair to the buyer 😉 There are many exchange houses in Bucharest (anywhere you go), and many, quite many, Bank offices where you can exchange money (and yes, debit/credit cards are usually accepted almost everywhere).

The organizers cannot be held liable for accidents to participants or for damage to or loss their personal property, howsoever caused. Participants are advised to make their own insurance arrangements.

Internet Access

The Internet access will be free of charge for all participants. The wireless connection will be available in the conferences rooms and in the conferences main hall. The information about internet access will be available on the registration desk.

The closest to the conference venue (and nice) is Ambiance Hotel.

You can book your Bucharest hotel room online. You can find low rates and good availability on, but you can also phone directly any hotel for a reservation. If you need assistance in your accommodation, please feel free to contact us.

For more downtown hotels we recommend Ibis Hotel (“Parliament” area), Parliament Hotel, or Duke Hotel. Please try to book in a hotel (if you go through or other means) that is located next to a Metro station (is really important to be connected – Bucharest is quite vast, it’s larger in spreading maybe than many of the European capitals) for easy transportation (try to use as much as possible the Metro, it’s a lot faster than Buses for example; at the surface, the town is somewhat overcrowded, thus transport congestions happen, and during the morning and in the afternoon you can easily spend quite a large amount of time in public transportation).
